Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment The award aims to:

  1. Highlight the contribution of the public and private sector, civil society and women’s rights champions to worldwide efforts for the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
  2. Promote women’s empowerment and equality between men and women.
  3. Encourage innovative approaches and solutions to achieve women’s empowerment in policy and programming, and provide a global space to celebrate these achievements.
  4. Foster creative and inclusive thinking by communities to collaborate to achieve women’s empowerment, recognizing that equality for all, means prosperity for all and sustainable development for communities and nations.

At RWIDF we believe in providing a ticket for women and girls to live a better life, holistically transformed and emancipated. RWIDF is a pacesetter in poverty eradication by supporting rural populations to build sustainable livelihoods and dignified lives. We seek to enhance women’s and youth’s well-being through development cooperation programs in WASH, health, livelihoods, education, protection (including Gender-Based Violence), climate action, research, good governance and human rights advocacy. RWIDF is also an ally for men and has helped them gain tools to release their power and challenge destructive gender Norma in their communities. We believe that our contributions will create a generation of Women and girls who will confidently contribute to decisions on issues affecting them and the communities they live in.

We at RWIDF are committed and determined to build a ‘nation’ of Women and girls who will confidently contribute to the development of Uganda.
