Who we are
We are a women focused Non-Governmental organization based in Western Uganda. We hold a mandate to enhance the skills, livelihoods and well-being of women, girls and youth as a way of supporting communities and increase awareness of water, sanitation and hygienic standards, income promotion, reproductive health, food security, education, good governance and human rights advocacy. We work closely with local partners including Straight Talk Uganda, SOS Children’s villages Uganda, Divine Aid, Rukungiri District Local government, Mitooma District Local government, Ntugamo District Local government, UWASNET among others
Our Values
Integrity
We ensure high levels of integrity in our program management. We are honest and have strong moral principles that unify us as an undivided team to ensure that we are at the centre of safe guarding and protection of rights of the people in communities we serve
Inclusiveness
We ensure inclusiveness in our program management, development and implementation. We work towards ensuring everyone regardless of who they are feel equally involved in and supported in all areas of our work.
Accountability
We are both accountable to our generous donors and the communities we serve, We are responsible for our words, our actions, and our results and we ensure value for the resources that we spend while transforming communities.

We are innovative while delivering our programs, we learn from the failures and successes we register during program development and implementation. This helps us create interventions that meet the needs of the communities we serve.

20 years of experience!
Rukungiri Women Integrated Development Foundation has a firm background in implementing community level and donor funded Projects right from its inception in 2002. RWIDF has over years built trust of its generous donors maintaining a strong longlasting partnerships with them. RWIDF has experience in the acquisition, implementation and reporting of publicly funded projects (including Ryan’s Well Foundation Canada, European Union, USAID, John Snow, among others). We have more than 20 years of programme experience in the areas of Water and sanitation, education, training, women and community empowerment, among others in the communities of Western Uganda.
Our Objectives
- To work for the uplifting the status of women in the society and the communities in which they live.
- To help and generate training programme for self-employment of women and educate unemployed people and to work for adult education.
- To work for uplifting poor rural/village people for their overall development.
- To create awareness among the people regarding AIDS etc. To create training/ Sensitization on Water and Sanitation, Health (WASH) Projects in the community.
- To propagate the need for tree plantation/pollution control and environmental awareness.
- To provide help under health and nutrition services for women and children.
- To establish library and reading rooms in rural communities.
- To provide help/ shelter/facilities for old people, children and disabled persons for their welfare.
- To organize forums, seminars, camps etc. for spreading good living habits and moral values.
- To undertake any other work or assignment which may be for the general welfare of the people..
