RWIDFMr. Charles' Story
Kajwamshana Primary school has been lucking sanitation facilities for a long time; it's unbelievable if one saw the toilets that were being used. I am excited for the new four stance latrine constructed at the school premises. The school is funded by the government of Uganda but it has for long been neglected and has lacked basic sanitation facilities.
I am expressing happiness for the new latrine and water facilities constructed at my school. I thank RWIDFand their Partners for the support to my school which for a long time was lacking sanitation facilities. This school has suffered a tremendous decline in the pupil's enrolment due to poor sanitation facilities in the school. In the previous year the population of the school was 218 pupils. There has been an increase in the number of pupils this year by 50, which has been attributed to the improvement in the water and sanitation facilities. I attribute this to the good works of RWIDF and Ryan's Well foundation.
We had taken a long time without safe and clean water. I am very happy for RWIDF having chosen my area as one of the beneficiaries of the project. Rutooma C had for long been experiencing problems related to access to clean and safe water. I pledged to cooperate with RWIDF and to as well protect the water project through a committee of Village members. My village for long had experienced water borne diseases because we were sharing our water pond with animals like cows and goats.
For Alice clean water means a brighter future. Now clean water is all available, we wash ourselves, our children drink clean water. There is less sickness and almost everyone has come to know the importance of washing hands.
RWIDFMr. Sande Frank
RWIDF met Mr Sande Frank, He was very grateful for the project in his village which he described as a life time event in their village. The water point at which they had been fetching water previously had brown dirty contaminated water. He said the same water pond was being used by brick layers and animals. On behalf of the village he thanked RWIDF for the work well done especially the training of water user committees even after construction work is done
